Sailing Trips in Montenegro

Where the Mountains meet the Sea

Sailing in Montenegro is an experience like no other. Nestled between steep mountains and the Adriatic Sea, this small Balkan country offers dramatic landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and a sense of peaceful remoteness that’s hard to find elsewhere.

Each day brings a new hidden bay, a quiet anchorage, and the gentle rhythm of life at sea. We explore rugged coastlines, swim in secluded coves, and soak up the warm sun on deck. The atmosphere is calm and grounding, a perfect escape from everyday life.

Montenegro combines natural beauty with cultural richness. It feels both wild and welcoming, simple and soulful. A sailing trip here isn’t just about the sea, it’s about slowing down, being present, and enjoying every moment in one of the Adriatic’s best-kept secrets.

Plant-based in Montenegro

Wild coastline, mountain herbs and Balkan soul on the plate

Montenegro sits at a crossroads between the Adriatic coast and the Balkans, and the food reflects that. Markets here are full of roasted peppers, slow-cooked beans, fresh herbs from the mountains and produce that still carries the flavour of the soil it came from.

On board along the Montenegrin coast that means warming stews, herb-heavy spreads, roasted vegetables and the kind of simple, honest food that tastes best eaten outside with the mountains in the background. Every meal is 100% plant-based and prepared together by the crew and guests. Montenegro feeds the soul as much as the stomach.

FAQ Sailing in Montenegro

How does sailing in Montenegro compare to other destinations?

Very. Montenegro is still in its early days as a sailing destination, which means uncrowded anchorages, hidden bays and coastline that feels genuinely untouched. On some days you will hardly see another boat. If you are looking for somewhere that has not yet been discovered by the flotilla crowd, Montenegro is it.

Montenegro is not part of the EU or Schengen, but most European passport holders can enter without a visa for short stays. If you are travelling from outside Europe, it is worth checking the requirements for your nationality before booking.

Montenegro’s waters are some of the least disturbed on the Adriatic. Dolphins are regular companions on open water passages, and the remote bays attract a variety of seabirds that you rarely see in busier sailing areas. The further south we sail toward the Albanian border, the wilder it gets.
None at all. Our skippers take care of everything on board. You are welcome to help with the sailing if you want to learn, but you can also just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.
Yes, and most of our guests do. You will be part of a small group of 8 to 10 open-minded travellers. By day two, strangers have usually become crew.
Seven nights on board, all plant-based meals prepared fresh each day, a professional skipper, and all port and marina fees. Flights and travel to the departure port are not included.
