Sailing Trips in Portugal

Explore the Algarve and Atlantic Coast

Portugal offers a sailing experience full of authenticity, stunning landscapes, and relaxed vibes. Along the southern coast, the Algarve captivates with its golden beaches, hidden bays, and crystal-clear waters, perfect for anchoring in peaceful spots only accessible by boat.

Our journey also takes us along the rugged west coast, where dramatic cliffs meet the Atlantic Ocean. Feel the fresh sea breeze, enjoy coastal road trip views, and embrace the vibrant surf culture, whether you’re catching your first wave or are an experienced surfer.

Sailing in Portugal is about more than just the sea: it’s cozy evenings on deck, laughter under the sunset, and the freedom to explore a diverse and beautiful coastline.

Plant-based on the Atlantic

Fresh, local and made with love on board

Portugal does something to the way food tastes. The Algarve is full of almonds, figs, oranges and fresh herbs that find their way into everything cooked on board. We shop at local markets before we set sail, picking up whatever is in season and letting the region inspire the menu.

Along the Portuguese coast that means ripe tomatoes, good olive oil, chickpeas cooked the way they do it here, and citrus in places you would not expect. Every meal is 100% plant-based and prepared together by the crew and guests. Cooking on board is part of the experience.

FAQ Sailing in Portugal

What is it like to sail on the Atlantic Ocean?

Different from what most people expect. The Atlantic has more swell and a stronger sense of open water, which makes the sailing feel more alive. It is not rough, but it has character. If you have only ever imagined sailing as flat, calm water, Portugal will change that in the best possible way.

Portugal is Atlantic sailing. The coastline is wilder, the waves bigger and the anchorages far less crowded. You will find dramatic cliff formations, hidden beaches and a raw natural beauty that feels a world away from the busy Med.

The Atlantic off the Algarve coast is one of the best places in Europe for wildlife encounters. Dolphins are a common sight and often swim alongside the boat. You might also spot loggerhead sea turtles, gannets diving into the water and the occasional sperm whale further offshore. It is one of those things that never gets old.
None at all. Our skippers take care of everything on board. You are welcome to help with the sailing if you want to learn, but you can also just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.
Yes, and most of our guests do. You will be part of a small group of 8 to 10 open-minded travellers. By day two, strangers have usually become crew.
Seven nights on board, all plant-based meals prepared fresh each day, a professional skipper, and all port and marina fees. Flights and travel to the departure port are not included.
