Our Spain Trips
Plant-based in Spain
Olive oil, sun-ripened vegetables and the best markets in the Mediterranean
Spain is the world’s largest producer of olive oil and it shows in everything cooked here. The produce in the Balearics is different from Andalusia, which is different again from the coast along the Alboran. We shop local wherever we are and let the market decide the menu.
On board that means gazpacho made from tomatoes that actually taste like tomatoes, slow-cooked lentils with smoked paprika, pisto piled onto bread, roasted peppers and whatever came off the morning market stall with the most colour. Every meal is 100% plant-based and prepared together by the crew and guests. In Spain, the ingredients do most of the work.

FAQ Sailing in Spain
Which parts of Spain do you sail?
What is the Alboran Sea like to sail?
The Alboran sits at the crossroads between two oceans and two continents. The water changes character quickly here. On one side you have the Atlantic pushing in through the Strait of Gibraltar, on the other the calmer Mediterranean. The coastline switches between Spanish fishing villages and glimpses of the Moroccan Rif mountains across the water. It is one of the most geographically dramatic sailing areas we explore.
What wildlife can we spot on a Sailing Trip in Spain?
Spain is one of our best destinations for wildlife. The Alboran Sea has one of the highest concentrations of common dolphins in the entire Mediterranean and sperm whales pass through on a regular basis. Near the Strait of Gibraltar you might encounter orcas, a local population that is unique to this part of the world. In the Balearics, the Posidonia seagrass meadows around Ibiza and Mallorca support loggerhead sea turtles and a rich variety of marine life. Keep your eyes open from the moment you leave the harbour.
