Trip Overview
What can i expect?
Pirates of Paradise is a sailing holiday for people who like to stay active, try new things and meet kindred spirits. You do not need any sailing experience to feel at home on board. Since 2015 we have been crafting trips that bring you to the most beautiful spots in each region.
By day we explore bays, islands, cliffs, caves and small harbors. There is time in the sun, swims in clear water and the occasional stop at a favorite local restaurant. With a little luck you might see dolphins or a trail of glowing plankton after dark. At night we fall asleep under a wide sky filled with stars.
Life on board runs on community and teamwork. Everyone helps where it matters, whether we are setting sails, dropping anchor, cooking or cleaning. We cook together, laugh together and sometimes dance on deck. There is also room for quiet moments with a book or a coffee when you want your own space.
Come alone, with a partner or with friends. You will find an easy going crew and a welcoming rhythm. We sail on our own boat(s). If a trip is very popular, we charter additional boats from trusted partners. Groups stay small, with a maximum of three boats, so we can explore together and step ashore as one family.
What is the itinerary?
Each trip has a customized itinerary based on the destination. You can check out the route in the trip description for a detailed plan of where we’ll go and what we’ll focus on. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll adjust the route, but there are always safe havens nearby.
Our recommendation: We aim to offer variety with each route, including stops in secluded coves, picturesque harbors, local villages, and even short hikes for stunning sunsets. We often go snorkeling, cliff jumping, rent bikes, and explore hidden gems along the way.
Let yourself be surprised! We tailor each route with unique stops for every country.
How many people are on each trip?
Each trip has up to 10 guests per boat. We keep the group size small to create an intimate and personal experience.

Travel and Arrival
How do I get to the starting marina?
You have the freedom to travel by plane, train, bus, car or even bike, surely depending on your distance to the marina. Just make sure to arrive at the marina on Saturday on time. We create WhatsApp groups for each trip so you can connect with your fellow travelers in advance. You can organize a carpool, share an Uber from the airport, or meet up for coffee at the harbor while you wait.
Our recommendation: Arrive a few days early to explore the mainland before the trip. We suggest always the eco transports to us like train, bus or bike.
What happens if I’m late to the marina?
We will wait for you, but depending on how late you are, we may have to set sail without you. However, the first bay we visit on the first night is never too far away, so you’ll still be able to catch up. We will do our best to accommodate everyone and ensure that everything works out.
How does the Check-In work?
A few weeks before the trip, you’ll be invited to join a WhatsApp group where you’ll stay up-to-date on all the details. This includes information on where exactly check-in will take place at the marina.
Check-in starts on the Saturday of the trip around 5 pm. Once everyone has arrived, we gather for a welcome session where we briefly explain the schedule for the week and answer any remaining questions. After that, we load the boats together, and if everything runs smoothly, we’ll sail to the first bay that evening.
Safety Briefing: A full safety briefing will be conducted during check-in, covering emergency procedures, life jacket use, and boat safety.

Boat and Crew
What is the boat like?
We sail with a maximum of 3 yachts, each with space for 8-12 people. On the boat, there are 4-6 sleeping cabins, 2-3 toilets and showers, and a communal area with a kitchen. You’ll find a stove, oven, coffee makers, and all the utensils you need to enjoy your time on board.
Outside, there’s a large deck for sunbathing and a seating area where you can enjoy meals with your crew. At the back, there’s a bathing platform where you can jump into the water.
We also have a motorized dinghy for excursions to caves, bays, or the shore.
How are the cabins divided?
Our boat usually accommodates 2 people per cabin. If you’re traveling with someone, you’ll be assigned a cabin together. If you’re traveling alone, you can let us know your preferences, and we’ll try to accommodate you accordingly. Solo travelers typically share a cabin with others of the same gender, ensuring everyone feels comfortable. Cabin assignments are finalized about a week before departure.
Good to know: There are a few spots on deck, including a hammock under the stars, where you can relax when you prefer.
What do I need on a boat?
- Summer clothes, swimwear, and a sweater or loose pants for cooler evenings
- Sturdy shoes for outings
- Sunglasses and a hat
- Personal documents and medications
- Towels and eco-friendly sunscreen (provided on board)
For your convenience, we also have a small hairdryer on board. We recommend packing light; a small bag is easier to store in your cabin than a suitcase.
What about the skippers?
Where do the skippers sleep?
Weather and Seasickness
What happens when the weather changes?
In the unlikely event of a storm, we’ll head to a safe harbor nearby. Our skippers receive real-time weather updates via satellite, so they’re always prepared.
