We did a transfer from Sardinia to Mallorca, and it was my first time solo travelling on a sailing ship with complete strangers, but pirates of paradise made me feel right at home, facilitating an environment of trust, safety and familiarity we all got to enjoy. We were a group of just 10 people with different levels of experience in sailing (from none to fully skipper trained) and during the week of sail and learn we also had time to take it easy and make the most out of the days and the weather. This was an unforgettable experience, very personal deeply connecting and fully engaging that I will 100% recommend to anybody that dears to create meaningful connections with themselves, the crew and Nature. Pirates of Paradise is definitely worth a trip! Was there in Croatia in 2022. The trip was incredibly fun and you can learn a lot about sailing and help out. Perfect for solo travelers as you get to meet lots of new people and work and live together as a community. Yenzi is a great organizer and host who has many exciting stories to tell.

Provided you have a bit of spontaneity and calmness, the trip is no problem at all, even for sailing newbies. From sundowner road trips to sleepy island villages, everything was there. The cooking was great on board, the soundtrack during the sailing sessions was on point, and the organization of the crew was uncomplicated and smooth. So all in all, 100% recommended. The only minor drawback: I would have liked to have had more sailing action! The boat was super comfy, but not too sporty - so there wasn't much to do. smooth sailing all the way.

Sicily Trip I had a wonderful time with Pirates of Paradise in Sicily. The crew was such a great match, was very friendly and everyone took great care of us. It was a good mix of activities on land and relaxing time on the boat. Everything was organized in such a way that it was easy to just enjoy and go with the flow. The boat is very comfortable furnished, so you immediately feel at home and can quickly settle into the group and get to know new people. Sicily is definitely worth a visit. Absolute recommendation. I booked the trip to Italy at very short notice because I had never sailed before and wanted to try it out. Another friend of mine spontaneously jumped on board, but I wouldn't have had any problems on the boats even without him. I think the nature of this trip attracts a very similar type of person and so, without exception, all the other travelers and the crew were very relaxed, sociable and in a good mood, so that within a very short time you had a very familiar feeling in the group. From minute one, this trip was generally like a trip you booked with good friends, which is something you have to like. So it's not an all-in sailing trip, but you have to lend a hand, be it with the sailing itself or with preparing food, which in my opinion strengthens the group feeling even further. By the way, the food was consistently outstanding! Honestly, this trip changed something in me. Pirates of Paradies made it easy from the start, their website tells you everything you need to know upfront. The seamails were such a sweet touch that made me feel part of something special. The team is genuinely warm and attentive. Managing 18 people with different wishes and moods, and actually pulling it off,  is no small thing. Even when the wind didn’t cooperate, they found the most stunning spots I never would have discovered on my own. For the cool kids. We were on a crossing as a couple. This is not an officially advertised trip, but it is just as commercial and set up with the same general conditions. Basically, everything is as described on the website: the crew is nice, the waters and destinations are amazing, and we cook fresh and delicious vegan food together every day. I think the idea and concept are great, but I see room for improvement in the implementation. Unfortunately, criticism was reacted to very sensitively and dismissed as very far-fetched. I therefore don't want to go into my own personal impression any further, I think it just wasn't a good fit on a human level. In my opinion, the following things are important to know before booking a trip with Pirates: The trips are designed for young people. This is also how it is described on the website and this is also reflected in everyday life, which is free and flexible, at times unstructured and chaotic. I myself am in my mid-30s and consider myself to be quite a free spirit, but at times I felt really old and worn out. The conditions on board are cramped. Some crew members do not have their own cabin and sleep in the common area or on deck. During our stay on board, a toilet was also broken, which smelled and looked very unpleasant. The heat below deck is sometimes unbearable, especially when cooking, and sleep is out of the question on warm nights. If mosquitoes have found their way on board or the crew, who were previously too tired to wash up, turn up the volume again and make a fuss right above your bunk... you will feel a few years older by the next morning at the latest. But still: you can cope with little sleep and privacy for a week, it's worth it. I would recommend everyone to see for themselves... just don't do too many Insta stories, otherwise you'll miss the real magic of this tour.
