Volunteer Dry Dock / Winter Camp (F/M/D) (February – April 2027)

The role
Every winter our boats come off the water and need some love before the next season. From February to April we set up our winter camp in Greece to refit, rebuild and reimagine our two boats. We’re looking for hands-on people to live and work with us during this time, roll up their sleeves, and help bring our boats back to life (and dream up a few new ideas along the way).
 What you’ll do
- Renovate, repair and clean both boats
- Wrap it from the outside (bring your ideas, we’re open)
- Help us reimagine our sails. We’d love to turn the plain white into something colorful and creative, ideally carrying a cool message or a statement we stand behind (creative minds and designers, this one’s for you)
- Help us build out a new van
- Cleaning and general maintenance
- And whatever else comes up. With boats, things often turn out differently than planned, so we simply need people who are up for pitching in, being creative and working as a team
 What we’re looking for
- Hands-on skills of any kind, from sanding and painting to sewing, design or van building

Role Overview
We’re looking for a chef to join our team on board. You keep the kitchen and the supplies running, and you cook together with the guests, not just for them. It’s a hands-on role with real responsibility: you’re the person who makes sure everyone on board eats well every single day, in changing conditions and in changing countries.
What we are looking for
Cooking experience is essential for this role. You don’t need professional chef training, but you do need to have cooked a lot, and you need to trust yourself with all of this:
- Cooking for at least 14 people, often more, up to around 25 when both boats sail together. With a group that size you’ll of course have help and we have two chefs planned, but you need to feel confident taking the lead in the kitchen
- Understanding quantities. Scaling recipes up, knowing how much to buy and how much to prepare, without waste and without running short
- Cooking creatively and fully plant-based with whatever is available. What you can get differs from country to country and from one small harbour shop to the next. Your usual ingredients won’t always be there, so improvising is part of the job
- Planning ahead. Mapping out the week, writing the shopping list, and organising the big shop so the kitchen never runs empty
- Making food from scratch. Fresh hummus, oat milk and everything else we’d rather not buy in a package
On top of that: you’re a team player with good communication skills, and you can organise yourself and your tasks in a busy environment.

- Source ingredients from local markets and small grocery stores, with support from the crew

Time and commitment (please read this part)
This is a volunteer position, and we’re aware that’s a lot to ask. Still, it doesn’t work alongside a second job, and we’re genuinely sorry about that. We’d never want to stop anyone from earning money on the side, but life on board doesn’t run on fixed hours. There’s always something going on, and we honestly can’t tell you in advance from when to when you’ll be working on any given day.
So what we need from you is availability: enough time, and enough energy left over, to still be part of the trip. To sit down with the guests, join in, and do things together during the week. If you’d have to fit another job or remote work around the boat, this isn’t the right role for you.

Role Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on allrounder who loves being around people and isn’t afraid of getting their hands dirty. You’ll be the good soul on board: you help keep the kitchen and the boat running, you keep an eye on the group and make sure everyone feels welcome. And because every trip is full of beautiful moments, you’ll capture some of them for our social media too.

- Manage WhatsApp communication with the tour groups

Important Info
Besides our boat, we also have a van that we use for grocery shopping and other errands. If you have a driver’s license, you might drive it from time to time. Every now and then, the van also needs to be brought to our next destination. This can mean a week of traveling on land and sleeping in the van. It doesn’t happen often, but it’s part of the job.
Requirements
- Hands-on mentality: washing up and cleaning are part of the job, and that’s totally fine for you
- You enjoy being around people and you’re open, empathetic and a great host
- Experience in hospitality or working with people is a plus
- Some kitchen experience and joy in (vegan) cooking
- An eye for nice photos and videos and you know your way around Instagram stories
- A driver’s license is a plus, as you might occasionally drive our van
- Strong communication and team player skills
- Good self-organization, flexibility and a positive attitude, even when plans change

We’re looking for a creative social media talent who wants to help us grow on Instagram and TikTok. You don’t have to be on board all the time: you join our trips regularly for a few days and capture enough content to keep our channels running for the following weeks. In between, you work flexibly from wherever you are. Together with our marketing team, you plan content, keep our community engaged and help shape our social media strategy.
How it works

Over the past seasons, we’ve had lots of wonderful photographers and videographers on board, and we’re so grateful for all the beautiful moments they captured. For the coming season, we’re changing things up a little: we now need more video content than photos, so from now on we’ll only invite creators every now and then, depending on what content we need.

Volunteer Van driver & land support (F/M/D) – Open for 2027

About us
Pirates of Paradise is a sailing company that offers adventure and unforgettable experiences on our sailing trips along Europe’s coasts. We travel in small groups, cook fresh vegan food on board and believe in slow living with a bit of adventure, far away from mass tourism.
Role Overview
While our crew is out on the water, we’re looking for someone to travel along on land. You drive our van from harbor to harbor, keep us stocked up with groceries and take care of the laundry, so life on board runs smoothly. On Saturdays, you’re part of the team again: changeover day, when the boats get cleaned and prepared for the next group.
Between the stops, the van and your time are yours. You follow our route at your own pace, sleep wherever you like, take detours to that beach you saw on the map and explore Europe’s coasts. Fuel and food are on us.
This is a role for someone who loves the freedom of van life and still enjoys being part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Drive our van along our route and meet the boat at the next harbor
- Do the grocery shopping for the crew and our guests, ideally at local markets and small shops
- Take care of the laundry during the week
- Run errands on land whenever something is needed
- Help clean and prepare the boats on Saturdays, our changeover day, and give our on-board volunteers a hand after their week with the guests
- Stay in touch with our crew and plan the next meeting points together
Your time in between
Once the shopping is done and the laundry is drying, your days are your own. The van is your home and your ride: travel, swim, hike, read, work on your own projects. You just need to be where we agreed to meet, on time and with the groceries on board. And when there’s room on the boat, you’re more than welcome to swap the road for the water for a few days.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is a must, along with a relaxed hand behind the wheel, also on small coastal roads
- Excellent self-organization: you plan your route, your shopping and your time on your own
- Reliability, because our kitchen and our Saturdays depend on you showing up as agreed
- A hands-on mentality: cleaning the boats on changeover day is part of the deal
- A free spirit who feels at home living out of a van for a while
- Comfortable with simple van life: no daily shower, changing places, changing plans
- You’re happy to shop and eat fully vegan with us, because that’s how we live and cook on board

Important info
This is a volunteer role. Fuel and food are fully covered, and the van is yours to use and to sleep in for the whole time you’re with us. The van and its insurance are taken care of by us, you just need your own travel and health insurance for your stay. A valid driver’s license is mandatory. And of course, whenever our paths cross and there’s a free spot, you’re very welcome to join us on board and sail along for a while. You don’t have to commit to the entire season, just let us know the period that works for you.

Internship Strategic Marketing & Brand Growth (F/M/D) // Remote (EN & DE)

Role Overview
We’re looking for a highly motivated intern (F/M/D) in the final phase of their studies who wants to gain hands-on experience in strategic marketing and brand building.
This is not a purely operational role focused on SEO/SEA execution. Instead, you will work closely with us on marketing strategy, campaign development and content concepts, while also supporting selected performance marketing activities.
You will take part in shaping how we position our brand, approach new target groups and develop creative campaigns across different channels.
This role is fully remote and requires a high level of self-organization and ownership.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of our marketing and brand strategy
- Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns (EN & DE)
- Conduct market, competitor and target group research
